The final days...26ers

From 2014, Twakkie has officially been branded as our "retro rider". But I think his days on the 26er are soon to come to an end. Because of this, his longstanding 26er companion has been sensing that a change is in the offing. Needless to say, the relationship has become a bit strained over the past few weeks.

I know this because I have secret WhatsApp messages between Twakkie and his 26er. Twakkie has toyed with the idea of getting a new bike; entered some long races like the Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse; nearly entered the Attakwas....

Its not for sensitive viewers as break-ups are never pleasant.

Christmas has come and gone. Finally the BoneyM assault has been put to rest and we can get on with normal life. But we all get a bit excited around the Christmas period in the hope of a decent gift. Apparently bikes feel the same way:

After resigning back in 2013, Twakkie enjoyed himself at the office party. Without a photostat machine present, Twakkie went ahead and dive-bombed the hotel fish-pond. Of course the clip went viral - and Twakkies 26er found out. How? Well, apparently bikes talk. Word gets around....Bikes are IN THE KNOW...

Sometimes a bit of old humour creeps back into the relationship...which is good for all parties concerned:

Being a former racing vet, Twakkie would normally always have been on the DC ride. But he gave up everything for his beloved 26er and has turned his back on the skinny wheeled code.
But the yearning is still there:

Twakkie had to pull out of the Attakwas - what with work and life getting in the way. So his 26er was a bit miffed at being left out of that....

Lets hope 2014 works out for these two.
