Its a few days to the (better say it right) Pick n Pay Cape Argus Cycle Tour (aka The Argus). By now a lot of out of towners are putting on the white bibs and cruising the promenade. They're on those expensive bikes and their tanned and shaved legs look really smart. Truth is, we are very lucky to be spoiled in that we ride this route every week...so we decided to take the piss out of all of the pseudo-pros that have recently hit town. We dressed up a bit unusually and took to the streets.

And then a funny thing happened...2 of our riders slipped through a red light.... Now let me immediately insert a disclaimer that we as the Smooth Knobblies do not accept the breaking of traffic laws. But in Dots and the CrackMan's defence - it was very early and there were no other cars around...well, except for the Metro Cop, that is...who happened to be RIGHT BEHIND us as the two perps slipped over the line.
But bear in mind that we were all dressed up...how the Metro Cop kept a straight face, I do not know.But we salute you officer! As a cycling group we fully promote safe cycling.
Have some admiration for the Cop - he lectured our two perps with a straight face - despite how they were dressed!
It was actually the fashion police that showed up!
